Thank you for considering CBK Grant Writing & Consulting. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you more about how we can work together. The goal of everything I do is about Helping Your Non-Profit Organization Flourish.©
CBK Grant Writing & Consulting is managed by Catharine B. Kuchar, President, who brings over 20+ years of experience in non-profit organizational management, fundraising and grant writing. Catharine was previously the Grants Officer for youthSpark (formerly known as the Juvenile Justice Fund) and now serves the organization as a consultant. She also served as the Executive Director of Atlanta Audubon Society, overseeing all aspects of managing this locally-based, environmental non-profit organization. Prior to joining Atlanta Audubon Society, she was the Vice President and Director of Educational Services for The Southern Institute for Business and Professional Ethics, raising ethical consciousness among business and community leaders, encouraging better business practices/corporate social responsibility and fostering a regional dialogue on ethical concerns.
She has extensive experience overseeing all phases of grant management including research, proposal/budget development, creating solicitation strategies, writing proposals, reporting and recordkeeping on a variety of grants—both large and small—from corporate foundations, private foundations, government entities and other non-profit organizations. Catharine also has experience maintaining historical information and files for annual audit purposes and creating publications for distribution to current funders (outside of the scope of the normal grant submissions) to regularly update them on the progress of the organization and the difference their support is making for those served. From her director positions at Atlanta Audubon Society and The Southern Institute, she also brings to the table the knowledge and experience of implementing grants. This gives her a unique insight into how a grant—once it is received—must be executed, followed up and publicized. Catharine has also served as a grant peer reviewer.
In addition to her extensive grant management work, Catharine also has broad experience in overall non-profit organizational management, from strategic planning to program development and execution, to financial oversight and budgeting. This is critical to the success of her work in grant writing and consulting as she adds layers of expertise that play an important role in working with non-profits to meet and exceed their development and organizational goals. Catharine has a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Communication from Xavier University and a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies from Emory University and is a member of the American Grant Writers' Association.
